Rock and roll at Mulund Gym

Talwalkars gym at Mulund celebrated the month of August & September as a part of 75th anniversary celebration. As part this celebration, we had various events / competitions in the gym. Here are the details on some of them:

Maximum Calories Burnt & Distance Covered On Treadmill was conducted on 10th august 2007- Friday as “calories do count” we had 60 participants who were running on treadmill for complete 10 minutes giving their best efforts.

Competition was classified into various groups:
Male / female (below / above 45years) and the winners are:

Maximum calories burned

Distance covered
  1. Manoj Panicker
  2. Sunita Rana
  3. Manju Abrahim

Distance covered according to age group

  1. Mr. Ashok Ladhani
  2. Neelam Singh

The winners took home some great gift hampers.

As we burn calories, we also require a proper fuel to maintain energy level. That’s the reason Talwalkars Mulund organized “Low Calorie Sweet Recipe Contest” – 10th august 2007 in which we had mouth watering sweets by many of our members.

We had 9 participants. Mrs. Ramanchit the senior dietician of thane branch was the judge of honor along with our branch manager Mrs. Meghana

The winners are:

  1. Shruti Muzumdar
  2. Rekha Varahmurthy
  3. Shruti Muzumdar, weight loss member achieved the 1st prize on her preparation of Oats & Fruit Pudding while Rekha Varahmurthy stood 2nd with her highly nutritious Wheat Laddu

To inspire the members to have a good weight & inch loss a special competition was done. 1 month target was given for “Maximum Inch Loss”. Along with members all the personal trainers contributed by giving these members maximum variations in exercise. There were 40 participants. Results were declared on 12th September 2007.

The winners are:

  1. Maximum inch loss - Female– Divya K loss 26 inches; PEP – Neelam
  2. Maximum inch loss - Male– Avinash Anand Rao 17 inches, PEP - Dyaneshwar

It would have been unfair if there was no special event for the weight gain members. Our participants engaged themselves with delicious food throughout the month & tried gaining maximum weight & strengthen the body. Perfectly supervised through proper workout, this resulted in maximum weight gain. The result were declared on 12th September 2007. The winner is Piyush Thakur: Gain 2 kg and 7 inches; PEP -  Sachin Bhatkar
