Health is an important criteria for judging the beauties. Today, beauty has become synonymous with fitness, and here's the man who can make you look beautiful and fit. Being the official trainer for the Miss India contestants, his exercise regime is more exciting than bungee jumping.

What exercise regime you recommend the contestants and how does it help them?

We are provided in advance the measurement requirements of the contestants, which have to be achieved. In view of that, an exercise regime is charted, and a personal trainer is assigned to each of them. The personal trainers that we provide the contestants are qualified from USA, ACE certified and working as managers with us.

The training programme includes individual training, group activity, circuit training and aerobics. We have located 15 different exercise stations for the contestants to exercise different muscle groups on the machines. The instructor is stationed at each machine to guide them and regulate the speed of the work stations.

During their one-month training, the contestants exercise from Monday to Saturday - 7 to 8 am (first batch) and 8 to 9 am (second batch). We bring variations in the exercise regime to secure interest and minimise stress to the contestants. Good music, running commentary and group workouts motivate them to keep up the pace and sometimes do better.

The exercise regime we provide the contestants is aimed at strength training and cardiovascular training. It builds their stamina, improves their gait, and enhances their muscle strength and endurance.

What is your definition of a fit & healthy body?

The body that feels active and not exhausted after 45 min to 1-hour exercise daily, is a fit body according to me.

What kind of lifestyle do you recommend the contestants?

A nutritious diet, 8 hours of sleep, drinking plenty of water and regular exercise should be the daily cycle of the contestants. But they should also be persistent and follow the regime for best results and not leave in between. The contestants should not miss even an hour of sleep or skip even one meal. They should be keen enough to go to a health club and workout under the guidance of a trained instructor. In a nutshell, a well-controlled lifestyle and disciplined habits are desirable.

What are the most important qualities the contestant should have?

A weak abdomen effects the gait and posture of the contestants, and they tend to slouch and look weak. Thus, all the contestants should strive to make their abdomens strong and firm. A good posture and the way the contestants carries herself on the ramp, is very important.

As a judge what is the final and decisive question that you would like to ask the contestants?

The question I would like to ask the contestant is, If you had to choose between Beauty and Health, what would it be and why?
